What do our production chains have to do with the rest of the world?

The impact that production chains have on the world as a whole is really quite important to every single country on this earth. Not only does it provide jobs at a local level, but also the trade between countries along the chain of production provides even more employment and economic health.

As each country will be able to produce different kinds of raw materials, trade is a necessity and production chains make that trade possible. For instance, Australia produces a large amount of uranium but uses very little, so it can sell that resource and use it to buy products that we do not produce a lot of.

Also, production chains are very important to Australia on the whole, simply because we are exporters of a large amount of raw materials. The chain of production helps those raw materials get to where they can be processed, while we benefit from the proceeds.
