Getting up close at the Tocal Field Days

Welcome to LandLearn NSW! Natural resources and primary products are a vital part of our lives. Primary industries in NSW supply us with many products and services we simply couldn’t live without, including our food, fibre, timber and energy. These industries are key drivers of our state's economy and generate significant employment, particularly in regional NSW.

LandLearn NSW encourages teachers and students to reflect on the role primary industries play in everyday life, both now and into the future.

Through face-to-face programs, classroom resources, events and teacher support, LandLearn NSW aims to build the capacity of teachers and students to participate in informed discussion and decision making about the production, consumption and management of primary products and natural resources in NSW.

Highlighting the need for sustainable practices in primary industries and natural resource management is a key feature of our program.

The key to our program is recognition that:

  • primary industries provide many social, environmental, cultural and economic benefits to the people of NSW;
  • there are rewarding professional careers in primary industries;
  • primary industries influence the wealth, health and lifestyles of people in NSW;
  • we can use sustainably managed natural resources and primary industry products;
  • cutting-edge science and research is yielding innovative primary industry practices.
